Sustainable fashion is becoming increasingly popular as consumers become more aware of the fashion industry's environmental impact. If you're thinking about starting a sustainable fashion brand, here are a few things you need to do:

Do your research.

Before you do anything else, it's essential to do your research. This includes understanding the sustainable fashion market, the competition, and the target audience. You also need to research the different sustainable fabrics and manufacturing processes available.

Create a business plan.

Once you've done your research, it's time to create a business plan. This will outline your business goals, strategies, and how you plan to achieve them. It's important to be realistic in your business plan, as the fashion industry is competitive.

Find a sustainable manufacturer.

Once you have a business plan, you must find a sustainable manufacturer. This can be a challenge, as few sustainable manufacturers are out there. However, there are a few that specialize sustainably.

Design your collection.

Once you've found a manufacturer, it's time to design your collection. This includes choosing the fabrics, colors, and styles of your clothing. It's important to create a collection that is both stylish and sustainable.

Market your brand.

Once you have a collection, it's time to market your brand. This includes creating a website, social media pages, and advertising. You must also create a marketing strategy to reach your target audience.

Sell your products.

Once you've marketed your brand, it's time to sell your products. You can sell your products online or in stores. It's important to find a way to sell your convenient and profitable products.

Starting a sustainable fashion brand is a lot of work but can be very rewarding. If you're passionate about sustainable fashion and have a good business plan, you can be successful.

Here are a few additional tips for starting a sustainable fashion brand:

Use sustainable fabrics and manufacturing processes.

Design your collection with sustainability in mind.

Market your brand to the right audience.

Sell your products conveniently and profitably.

Be patient and persistent.

Starting a sustainable fashion brand is a great way to make a difference.

Why I Went to Fashion School- Associate's Degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising

Monday, June 18, 2018

I've always been passionate about fashion. I love the way clothes can make me feel, and I love the way they can express my personality. In high school, I started taking fashion design classes, and I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the industry.

I chose to get a fashion design and merchandising degree to learn everything I could about the fashion industry. I wanted to understand the different aspects of the business, from design to production to marketing. I also wanted to develop my own skills as a designer and learn how to create stylish and functional clothes.

I'm so glad I decided to get a fashion design and merchandising degree. It has given me the knowledge and skills to succeed in the fashion industry. I'm excited to start my career and see what the future holds.

Here are some of the reasons why I chose to get a degree in fashion design and merchandising:

I love learning.

I want to learn everything I can about the fashion industry.

I want to develop my skills as a designer and create stylish and functional clothes.

I want to work in a creative and fast-paced environment.

I want to be part of an industry that is constantly evolving.

The only downside is I attended a predatory school that shut down shortly after graduation. The school was Gibbs College, which turned into Sanford Brown College. Do your research before choosing a college. I was a first-generation college student so I didn't know.

If you're thinking about getting a degree in fashion design and merchandising, I highly recommend it. It's a great way to learn about the industry and develop your skills to succeed.

The Journey of Choosing a Degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising

In today's highly competitive world, choosing the right career path can be daunting. Many factors come into play, including personal interests, skills, and market demand. Pursuing a degree in fashion design and merchandising can be an exciting and fulfilling choice for those with a passion for fashion and a flair for creativity. In this blog post, we will delve into why I chose to embark on this journey and explore its endless possibilities.

I only wish I lived near other schools that were offering fashion design. I chose Gibbs College, which eventually turned into Sanford Brown College. It turned out to be a predatory school. I graduated with an associate's degree in fashion design and merchandising, but I applied for their business program upon graduation. The school closed down, and I lost all my business course credit even though I learned a lot. The teachers were great.

Passion for Fashion:

One of the primary reasons for choosing a degree in fashion design and merchandising is a genuine passion for the industry. Fashion has always been an integral part of my life, and I have always been fascinated by its power to express individuality and creativity. The prospect of turning my passion into a career was an irresistible opportunity. I started sewing with my grandmother as a child and never looked back.

Endless Creativity:

Fashion design and merchandising allow individuals to express their creativity in numerous ways. From conceptualizing unique designs to selecting fabrics, colors, and patterns, the process of creating a fashion collection requires a blend of artistic vision and technical skills. This creative aspect of the industry was a major driving force behind my decision to pursue a fashion design and merchandising degree.

Dynamic and Evolving Industry:

The fashion industry constantly evolves, driven by changing trends, consumer demands, and technological advancements. This ever-changing nature of the industry offers an exciting and dynamic environment for professionals. As a fashion designer and merchandiser, I am thrilled to be part of an industry that thrives on innovation and pushes boundaries.

Combining Art and Business:

Fashion design and merchandising are unique fields that combine artistic creativity with business acumen. While design allows for self-expression and artistic exploration, merchandising involves understanding consumer behavior, market trends, and strategic planning. This blend of art and business was one of the key factors that attracted me to pursue a degree in this field.

Global Opportunities:

Fashion is a global industry, transcending borders and cultures. By choosing a fashion design and merchandising degree, I open myself up to a world of opportunities. From working with renowned fashion houses to collaborating with international designers and participating in fashion weeks around the globe, the possibilities are vast and exciting.

Choosing a degree in fashion design and merchandising is a decision that goes beyond a mere interest in clothing and aesthetics. It is a commitment to a career that combines passion, creativity, business acumen, and a willingness to embrace the industry's dynamic nature. For those who have a genuine love for fashion and a desire to make their mark in the ever-evolving world of style, pursuing a degree in fashion design and merchandising is a gateway to a fulfilling and exciting career.
